Complete a supplementary business studies program in addition to your law degree! In eight lectures, you will acquire valuable practical knowledge for your future legal career in the judiciary, as a consultant in a law firm or in a company.
After successfully completing the program, you will receive a FAU certificate attesting your additional qualifications. The certificate program is the perfect complement to your law degree, if you want to combine your passion for law with business know-how!

What is the degree program about?
At the School of Law, you can complete an additional degree program in business administration relevant to lawyers alongside your law degree. The additional studies Practical Basic Business Adminstration provide you with business administration skills that are specially tailored to the needs of lawyers in their future professional life, in parallel to the legal basics.
The total of eight lectures are spread over four semesters. The content has been developed in close co-operation with practitioners and is taught by experienced practitioners.
You will gain a comprehensive insight into the fundamentals of business administration. The aim is to impart not only theoritical knowledge, but also practical skills that are essential for your future legal career.

The additional studies comprise four core modules with a total of 24 ECTS credits.
1. Introduction to business administration and economics:

2. Financial accounting and balancing:

3. Investment appraisal and evaluation:

The modules conclude with a written examination of 180 minutes. Students can also take the corresponding examination in the form of two partial exams of 90 minutes each. -

In addition to enrolment in the Law degree program, additional enrolment is required for the supplementary studies!
IMPORTANT
1. You are already enrolled in the Law degree program.
2. For the additional enrolment for the supplementary studies Practice-orientated Basic knowledge in Business Administration, please submit the form Application for change of degree program.
3. Please note that under „Planned degree program“ you must also enter „Law“ as your first subject in addition to „Practice-orientated basic knowledge in business administration“ as your second subject.
4. Please sign the form at the end of the second page and then send it as a scan to: studierendenverwaltung@fau.de
