You are interested in
different research areas in non-formal and formal education,

In return, it qualifies students for a wide range of professional activities in the scientific and practically education-related fields.
-
The degree program consists of nine modules and the master’s thesis. Each of these nine elements comprises a scope of performance of 10 ECTS, the master thesis is estimated at 30 ECTS.
- Modules 1 and 2 impart educational science basics and deepen these.
- In modules 3, 4 and 5 research methodological competences are acquired – prior knowledge is not necessary. Topics are quantitative as well as qualitative research methods.
- Module 6 and 7 are the profile modules, in which a topic area of empirical educational research is examined in more detail: Media Education, Heterogeneity and Diversity Management, Quality Development in Educational Institutions, International Education.
- Module 8 and 9 includes a project work. In addition to a seminar on project management, students design, conduct and evaluate their own research project.

-
For Module 6 and 7, one of four profiles must be taken:

The good support is made possible, among other things, by the fact that each module includes a mentoring session in which students can ask questions and deepen content in small groups.
- Students have the opportunity to deepen their individual interests or to gain insights into several areas (both in terms of content and research methodology) of empirical educational research during their studies.
- An important principle of the degree program is that of inquiry-based learning. The degree program is application-oriented and one can gain a lot of practical experience of how research works.
- The degree program is offered both full-time and part-time. Studies begin in the summer and winter semesters.
- Nuremberg as a place to study offers many advantages for organizing leisure time and everyday life. As a metropolitan region, many professional opportunities also open up here.
