Discover the heritage of ancient Greece and deepen your knowledge of language, literature, and culture through the Greek teaching degree program! Focus on understanding and interpreting the original texts, giving you an in-depth knowledge of Greek literature. Expanded with content around subject didactics and educational sciences, you will gain additional knowledge and skills to later successfully pass on the fascinating subject of Greek philology to students as a teacher.
What is the degree program about?
The Ancient Greek teaching degree program focuses on the study of the language, literature, and culture of ancient Greece. To this end, the program provides solid linguistic skills in ancient Greek. Active mastery of the language takes a back seat to the acquisition of the knowledge required to read the original texts. In dealing with these, students should acquire the ability to deal critically and reflectively with a culture that is initially foreign to them and with their own.
The teaching degree program is therefore largely consistent with the Bachelor’s program in Greek Philology. In the teaching degree program, the areas of subject didactics and educational sciences are added.
